Concept Brand project

We were tasked to create a brand based off a topic or issue we were passionate about. My concept, Mense, tackled the stigma of menstrual products surrounding those who didn’t fit into the cisgender women stereotype — of whom most, if not all, menstrual products are marketed towards. Having several people in my life who menstruated but didn’t necessarily identify as women, I saw a hole in the market for a gender-neutral period product line.

Studying competitors in the period product industry, as well as other gendered self-care products, Mense was created to offer a gender-affirming product option for those not on one specific section of the gender spectrum, and help those people feel seen and cared for.

Game Redesign project

This project tasked me to not only redesign the aesthetics of a classic game, but to understand and redesign how the game was played. After lots of R&D (read: playing board games during class!), I decided to create a portable version of Trivial Pursuit. As someone who brings a deck of cards along to most social gatherings, I wanted to design an option for a quick and travel-friendly version of a classic trivia game.

BFA Gallery Show

This gallery exhibition was a critical part of receiving my BFA designation.

I began by developing a typeface, and then proceeded to create several different pieces of media utilizing the type.

This project was born out of my anxiety for the future, emphasizing the structure up until that specific point in my life and the uncertainty of what was to come next. You can view a full artist’s statement here, and download the font for personal use here.
